Rocktown Property Management will begin with an assessment of your property. We know the market well and have extensive experience in optimally pricing homes for rent.
We offer in-house contracting services, including maintenance and turning between tenants, to quickly get your home ready to lease and maximize rental income for you.
Once your home is ready to rent we will begin extensive advertising online. We will put a “For Rent” sign in the yard. If you have a property accommodating students, please note we also attend JMU’s off-campus housing events and stay active with the student community to help ensure you always have tenants for the upcoming school year.
We will thoroughly screen potential tenants by checking their rental references, employment history and credit. For students we may require a parent to co-sign the lease.
Once a tenant is found we will get a signed lease and perform a move-in inspection. Rocktown Realty will handle all communication with the tenant including rent collection and maintenance requests. Upon move-out we will do a final inspection with the tenant and will handle the refund of any security deposit due.
Rocktown Realty receives a 10% commission per month of the total lease amount. To secure tenants we charge a $100 per tenant fee for rentals by the room and a flat $250 fee for residential listings.
To get a price on just performing the turn work on your home for the next set of tenants, please contact us for an estimate.

Elkton Area Information
One of the first European-Americans to settle permanently in the area was Adam Miller (Mueller), a native of Germany. In 1741, Miller purchased 820 acres, including a large lithia spring, near Elkton and lived on this property for the remainder of his life. He sold 280 acres of this property to his son-in-law, Jacob Baer, and the spring on Miller’s land is still known as Bear Lithia Spring.
Conrads Store was a general store built by George Conrad about 1812. George Conrad was a son of Captain Stephen Conrad who served during the American Revolution. In 1816, Conrads Store became a United States post office with George Conrad as its first postmaster. During the American Civil War (1861–1865), Conrads Store operated as a Confederate post office. In September 1866, postal service was briefly discontinued at Conrads Store, and intermittently resumed and discontinued over the next decade until 1881 when the name, Elkton, was adopted as the name of new passenger station of the Shenandoah Valley Railroad. In January 1881, Elkton, Virginia was established as a post office. The Town of Elkton was officially incorporated on March 14, 1908. Source From Wikipedia
