Rocktown Property Management will begin with an assessment of your property. We know the market well and have extensive experience in optimally pricing homes for rent.
We offer in-house contracting services, including maintenance and turning between tenants, to quickly get your home ready to lease and maximize rental income for you.
Once your home is ready to rent we will begin extensive advertising online. We will put a “For Rent” sign in the yard. If you have a property accommodating students, please note we also attend JMU’s off-campus housing events and stay active with the student community to help ensure you always have tenants for the upcoming school year.
We will thoroughly screen potential tenants by checking their rental references, employment history and credit. For students we may require a parent to co-sign the lease.
Once a tenant is found we will get a signed lease and perform a move-in inspection. Rocktown Realty will handle all communication with the tenant including rent collection and maintenance requests. Upon move-out we will do a final inspection with the tenant and will handle the refund of any security deposit due.
Rocktown Realty receives a 10% commission per month of the total lease amount. To secure tenants we charge a $75 per tenant fee for rentals by the room and a flat $250 fee for residential listings.
To get a price on just performing the turn work on your home for the next set of tenants, please contact us for an estimate.

Harrisonburg Area Information
Harrisonburg, previously known as "Rocktown", was named after Thomas Harrison, a son of English settlers. In 1737, Harrison settled in the Shenandoah Valley, eventually laying claim to over 12,000 acres situated at the intersection of the Spotswood Trail and the main Native American road through the valley.
The creative class of Harrisonburg has grown alongside the revitalization of the downtown district. Contributing to Harrisonburg's cultural capital are a collection of education and art centers, residences, studios, and artist-facilitated businesses, programs, and collectives.
The Virginia Quilt Museum, established in 1995, is dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and nurturing Virginia's quilting heritage. It features a permanent collection of nearly 300 quilts, a Civil War Gallery, antique and toy sewing machines, and rotating exhibits from across the United States. Source From Wikipedia
